Sheffield by the seaside

📆 Date: 24th July - 24th August   📍 Location: City Centre

Sheffield by the Seaside is back with a whole host of family fun including fairground rides, games, giant sandpit, visiting dinosaurs and TV/film characters, kids entertainment and a whole lot more.

For 2025, the seaside has also expanded to Fargate with a selection of fairground rides located there too including, dodgems, trampolines and a traditional carousel.
The seaside will be open daily throughout the summer holidays, from Thursday 24 July until Sunday 24 August, 10am - 6pm.

Sector safari - Free Event 

📆 Date: 23rd July - 10th August   📍 Location: Winter Gardens 

Sector Safari is a completely free event running from June to August 2025. It is an interactive trail around the city that lets young people and their families explore potential future careers, all while discovering the diverse local businesses in their city.

At each business or venue on the trail, there will be a poster with a QR code. Scanning this code with your phone will give you more information about the company, the kind of jobs they offer and some fun facts about the area. The map also contain puzzles to complete as you make your way through the city. There's a link to the answers at the bottom of this page.

The trail takes around 2 to 3 hours to complete in full. You don’t have to do the whole trail, but to solve the word code in the booklet, you will need to visit all the locations.

Make It play it!

📆 Date: 24th July - 1st September  📍 Location: National Video Game museum

Make It! Play It! includes early access to Platypus Reclayed, a new claymation game from South Yorkshire’s Claymatic studio – available exclusively at the museum before its official release.

NVM is also celebrating 30 years of LEGO videogames, with gaming inspired by one of the original forms of imaginative play.

In partnership with the LEGO Group, discover a colourful mix of playable classics and rarely seen objects from both the Museum’s collection and the LEGO Group’s own archive.
